// Business By Referral - Greater Seattle Area

How We Work

Our mission is to empower businesses to thrive through meaningful connections and generating sustainable growth through word-of-mouth referrals. We are dedicated to fostering a collaborative community, nurturing strong relationships, and promoting ethical practices - creating a network that drives excellence and prosperity for all our members.

👋 Visit Us Anytime

Guests are always welcome at our weekly meetings. There's no invitation required and no obligation to join - we encourage anyone curious about the group to come see how we work, meet our members, and get a feel for the community. Many of our members started exactly this way, as a guest who decided to come back.

The best way to understand how Business by Referral works is to experience it. Visit us at an upcoming meeting as our guest.

🤝 Becoming a Member

When a guest attends at least two consecutive meetings and their business category isn't already represented in the group, they become eligible to apply for membership. Our single-seat-per-category structure is what makes the group work: because no two members compete in the same field, we can refer business to one another freely and confidently.

Once a prospective member applies, the existing membership votes privately by email, and the votes are tallied to reach a decision. Applicants are notified promptly. The process is straightforward by design - we want good people who are ready to participate, not paperwork for its own sake.

✍️ What Membership Asks of You

Membership is easy to earn and easy to keep, as long as you show up and participate. We meet every Wednesday at 8:00 AM, and members are expected to attend at least 70% of meetings over the course of the year. Regular attendance is what keeps referrals flowing and relationships strong - it's the single most important thing a member does.

Beyond attendance, members agree to uphold the standards laid out in our bylaws: treating referrals with professionalism, following up reliably, and conducting business ethically. Falling short on attendance or those commitments can put membership at risk, but for members who simply show up and engage, staying in good standing takes care of itself.
